Writing at Charfield
The overarching aim for English in the national curriculum is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written word, and to develop their love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment.
Writing is essential for communication and expressing ideas. It allows you to explore, inform, explain, entertain and persuade audiences. It can be used to show that you have understood an important concept and is a vital skill to master, whether you are a Historian, a Scientist, a Geographer or an Author!
Our writing teaching aims to support our overarching curriculum core aims and enable children to leave Charfield school able to write and communicate effectively.

We celebrate and share our writing in our classrooms and through displays. We have writing displays in our main corridor so that everyone can see our work.
